The Acrobat - 2009
An acrobat is flexible, moves around elegantly with an efficient use of energy and forces. This work 'The Acrabat' consists of a balanced linkage with 5 degrees of motion. Because of balance the linkage will be stationary at each possible position and it can be moved in all positions with minimal effort, even if the elements are large and heavy. For each possible position of the linkage the center of mass of all moving elements is at the rotational joint with the base.
